The future tense
Take the whole infinitive and add -é, -ás, -á, -emos, -éis, -án: hablaré, comerás, vivirá.
- Mañana hablaré con ella.Tomorrow I’ll talk to her.
- Viviremos en España.We’ll live in Spain.
Short stems
A few common verbs shorten the stem but keep the endings: tener → tendré, hacer → haré, poder → podré, salir → saldré.
- Tendré más tiempo en verano.I’ll have more time in summer.
- ¿Qué harás el sábado?What will you do on Saturday?
Wishes with me gustaría
Me gustaría + infinitive is “I would like to”. For “if only” or “I hope so”, say ojalá.
- Me gustaría vivir en Sevilla.I’d like to live in Sevilla.
- ¡Ojalá haga sol mañana!I hope it’s sunny tomorrow!
